Longing

by Raine Wynd

she looks so beautiful tonight
all black stretch lace and a skirt cut to here
like something out of a sin catalog
but I know I can't buy her for $19.95
because she's never been that kind of lady

I see the love in her eyes as she sighs
over the sexy sweetheart sweeping her off her feet
and all I can do is listen and inhale
the shards of a half-baked fantasy
right along with my Jack Daniels

I tell myself I'm just jealous that she's skinny enough
to make that leather and lace look so good
if I had more than Dutch courage in me
would I ever walk in somewhere wearing that
and the thought's enough to make me giggle

but all this lust is got to go somewhere
and it's just not enough to go home
and pretend my hands are her hands
somehow I smile and let it burn slowly
through every drop of this liquor scorching my throat
