Separate Lives

| we sit in separate rooms |
| we share the same house |
| we believe in the same love |
| but we rarely speak to each other |
| whatever happened to change things? |
| we used to spend every free moment |
| wishing there was more time |
| time to talk about our dreams |
| time to lie together in contentment |
| time to give to the love we shared |
| time just to be with each other |
| we thought if we made more money... |
| but we spend it all trying to make up |
| for the loneliness we're both feeling |
| and it's a long road back to togetherness |
| when you've gotten used to living separate lives |
