siege

you tell me you've old scars

you say you can't talk about them

seems to me you've imprisoned your dragons

but all i can see are your fears

you declare i can't understand

you swear i don't need to know why

when will you brave your fortress walls

and take a chance on loving me?

i'm no battlefield innocent

i can see you're wounded deeply

in places where words alone can't heal

if you'll let me, i can help ease your pain

i come bearing rainbows and promises of peace

though i've my swords and armor too

none of them will matter unless you choose to let me in

i refuse to lay siege to your castle just to lose your heart
